Message from Superintendent Jodee Brentlinger
Welcome to the Solana Beach School District (SBSD)! It is a privilege and honor to lead this exceptional school district where everyone is truly focused on the success of each child. I want to commend the Board of Education for its commitment to this mission, as it is through their leadership that this priority flows throughout the entire organization.
As I interact with teachers, staff and principals, their passion and pride are contagious. It is easy to see how proud they are of their programs, services and collective efforts, which are intentionally focused on supporting each child’s success. We are fortunate to have active and supportive families working alongside us as partners. Additionally, we are grateful for the Solana Beach Schools Foundation, which provides incredible support and resources to our schools. It is through these combined efforts the SBSD celebrates such excellence.
Now entering my second year as your superintendent, I would like to extend a warm welcome to families new to the SBSD and welcome back families returning to our schools. I have been in education for over 30 years and strongly believe in our public schools. I joined this school district after serving as the Assistant Superintendent for Educational Services in the Ocean View School District, a K-8 district serving approximately 8,300 students in Huntington Beach. Prior to that, I served for over 25 years in the Capistrano Unified School District as a teacher, site and district administrator, and assistant superintendent of personnel. Then and even more today, I am committed to the success of all students. I strongly believe in working collaboratively. Together, teachers, staff, parents, leaders, and the community, we produce better outcomes for our students. It is through effective partnerships that we are able to provide rich opportunities and experiences that benefit all children.
On a personal note, I have been married for almost 30 years, have three children, and love to read, hike, ride horses, and spend time with family and friends. I am truly looking forward to becoming actively involved in SBSD's communities. As your superintendent, I look forward to seeing you this year and getting to know new students, staff, parents, and community members by name. So, as you see me visiting schools, attending school and community events, or even at the market, please take a minute to introduce yourself. I look forward to a great school year!
