Skyline School Phase 2: Growing into Our New School
The Skyline's Phase II: Growing into our New School is designed to introduce more color, reduce the scale of the building, and soften the facade until newly planted trees and shrubbery fill in overtime in the front exterior of the building.
Board Presentation April 2019 - Presention includes the initial design of the landscape at Skyline, initial planning concepts, proposed spaces where opportunities to soften the facade exists, and proposed plant material.
Skyline School Phase 3: Growing into Our New School
District staff, Spurlock Landscape Architects, and Solana Beach community members worked collaboratively to identify enhancements to the front exterior of Skyline School. Through this work group, titled Skyline Phase 2: Growing into our New School, it was recommended to enlist local artists in designing art installations for identified areas. Fundraising efforts and grant opportunities will support Phase 3, art installations, and the replacement of the existing Skyline School signage.
The Skyline School Public Art Project consists of various public art opportunities located in the front of the new school. Opening in August 2018, Skyline School is a K-6 elementary school on ten acres along Lomas Santa Fe Drive. The district is seeking proposals from local artists to work with the community to further enhance the new school.
