My name is Sarah Whelihan, and I am honored to be your child’s sixth-grade teacher. I am looking forward to working with you and your child in reaching his or her full potential. We will have many wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and grow in the days ahead.
In an effort to get to know each other let me tell you a little about myself. I graduated from San Diego State University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies. Next, I completed a multiple-subject teaching credential, and I earned my Masters in Education at National University. I love teaching, and I am proud to be a teacher. This is my twenty-second year teaching. I have worked with students at all grade levels, and I am dedicated to teaching.
I believe in creating a learning environment that is engaging, challenging, hands-on, safe, and nurturing. I want us to work together to cultivate responsible, hard-working, enthusiastic students that can and will make positive contributions to their community. I hold high expectations for both my students and myself. Communication is extremely important, so I urge you or your child to contact me with questions or concerns at (858) 794-4500 or by Parent Square This is a new year for all of us, and I will do whatever I can to make the transition as smooth as possible. Thank you, and I look forward to working together to make this year great.
Sincerely,
Sarah Whelihan
