    I'm Ms. Emery and I'm very excited to spend this year teaching fifth grade!  
     
    I grew up in Encinitas.  (Mr. Davidson, this means that although I lived in Carlsbad, La Costa specifically, I was in the boundaries of the Encinitas School District).  I earned my bachelor's degree at San Diego State University, my teaching credential at CSU San Marcos, and then went on to earn my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in Mathematics.  This will be my 20th year of teaching and during that time I have taught fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. 
     
    In my free time I love spending time at the beach, park, Disneyland, doing puzzles, and spending time with my daughter and family.  I also love to walk and I try to read whenever I get some quiet time.  One of my favorite pastimes that I do get to do every day is cooking (and eating!). 
        
     I'm looking forward to a great year!
