• Meet Mrs. Hamilton
Hello and welcome to room 215! I have been teaching at Skyline for 18 years now, and I absolutely love it! Fifth grade is an awesome year! We read many exciting books and study interesting units in science and social studies, such as the solar system and the founding of our country. Math is fun, too, because we kick it up a notch and dive deeper into fractions, decimals, and algebra. You will be so proud of how much you've learned by the end of the year!
Before I was a teacher, I was a veterinary technician for 10 years. If you aren't quite sure what a vet tech is, I can best describe it as a nurse for animals. Yes, I would give animals shots, draw blood, take x-rays, and help the doctor during surgeries. I have been an animal lover since I was a little girl. I used to spend hours on end studying all the different breeds of dogs, cats, and horses in the encyclopedia.
Speaking of animals, I have three cats of my own. Kingsley is a 5 year old, beautiful, black cat. He was quite a terror when he was a kitten, but has surprisingly grown into a chill fellow. Possum Bear is a young, whipper snapper who gets himself into trouble with his curiosity about everything. And lastly, we have Larry, a gray feral cat that adopted us two years ago, but he has adapted quite well to the domesticated life style.
Now on to the important people in my life! My husband's name is Kevin and you will probably meet him as he likes to meet me for lunch sometimes. I also have two step-kids; a 17 year old daughter named Lauren and an 19 year old son named Garrett.  As a family, we have a lot of fun together.  We enjoy playing cards, going to the movies, traveling, and camping, especially in the desert.
Well, enough about me. I can't wait to get to know you this school year!
