    Dear Skyline Families,

I hope your Thanksgiving break was filled with joy, laughter and relaxation. I’m sure you are gearing up for the Winter Break, but know our teachers and staff are working tirelessly to support the academic and social/emotional wellbeing of your children.

As I take a moment to reflect on what I am grateful for, I want to say thank you to all the families who have welcomed me so graciously since I started as the principal of Skyline. I am so happy to be part of such an amazing community, and I look forward to our continued work together and getting to know each of you more personally.

    Imagining Our Vivid Vision

As a school and district we continue to refine our delivery of an excellent education for each of your children. This year our district is working on redefining our Mission and Vision for the Solana Beach School District. We have met twice since the start of the school year and we have several meetings left for this school year before the roll out of a new Mission and Vision for SBSD. I would like to personally thank the following individuals for their work on this committee: Sally Rollinson, Noami Pines, Teri Harrah, Summer McNett, Liz Siskowic, and Stacey Hamilton. Their thoughtfulness and work alongside all our SBSD schools has helped propel us forward.

    Principal's Coffee

Please join me on January 8th at 9:15 a.m. in our staff lounge for our first Principal's Coffee of the year. I would like to share information regarding our mission and vision work, how the school year is progressing, and update parents on playground and behavior expectations. This is also a time for us to have an informal conversation about school and I appreciate your input. I look forward to seeing you then!

    Foundation Update

As I shared over the phone, we are 65% of the way toward our Annual Fund Drive goal for the Solana Beach Schools Foundation. Thank you to all of our families who have donated to support our school. We continue to need your help to reach our goal of $100,500! You can visit www.solanabeachkids.org, and click on the Skyline Otters logo or you can drop off your donation at the front office. Checks should be made payable to SBSF. Your donation helps pay for our Discovery Lab teacher salaries and experiences this school year! We appreciate your support of Skyline.
