Weekly update for November 3, 2019
Monday, November 11th - Veterans Day (no school)
Dear Skyline Parents,
What a great Red Ribbon and Halloween Celebration last week! Thank you so much to our PTA for their support of our San Dieguito Alliance High School speakers along with our PlayItSafe Assembly. Come by and see our Heathy Choices pledge in the hallway! It’s a great time to follow up with your child regarding personal safety and healthy choices.
Speaking of Halloween, I hope you all enjoyed celebrating with your children. I wanted to share a special thank you to Jana Guy for leading Skyline in all the efforts to make the Halloween Carnival such a success. Thank you Jana for your leadership and organization. It was such a fun event! Additionally, I would like to thank, Mike Bentz, Lisa Campbell, and Estela Leidy for their planning and implementation of a great Halloween parade last Thursday.
Next week we are excited to send our sixth graders to camp. We wish them a safe trip filled with exploration, team building, and enjoyment. Please refer to your teachers’ emails for specific details regarding the trip. I’ve been told to share with all our sixth parents to pack long socks to help the kids keep warm during their hikes.
Enjoy your Sunday,
- Red Ribbon Week has been successfully completed! Thank you to Sunday, Marina, John, Jana, Kim, Alicia and Wendy for helping us decorate the school and for creating our "High Five to a Healthy Me!" pledge wall.
- Now that Halloween is over, wondering what to do with all of those treats? The Solana Beach PTA is collecting Halloween Candy to donate to our troops overseas between November 4th - 8th. Halloween candy in sealed bags can be dropped off at the office in one of the donation boxes.
- Join us for a special screening of "LIKE" - A documentary about the impact of social media on our lives on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019 6:00 - 8:00 PM La Costa Canyon High School 1 Maverick Way, Carlsbad, CA 92009. Please RSVP at https://tinyurl.com/LikeMovie2019. A panel discussion featuring Jean Twenge, Jon Moffet and Alexa Mendes to follow the screening.
