Red Ribbon Week
Mark Your Calendars! Red Ribbon Week is starting on Monday, October 28th! This year our theme for Red Ribbon Week is "Healthy Me, Way To Be!"
Red Ribbon Week is a nationwide program which is sponsored by the San Dieguito Alliance and endorsed by the Solana Beach School District and PTA. It was organized to honor the memory of Drug Enforcement Federal Agent Enrique Camarena from San Diego County who was murdered in 1985 by a drug cartel. The purpose of Red Ribbon Week is to establish a commitment within our community and our schools to promoting healthy lifestyles and creating an awareness of the issues and problems associated with the abuse of tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, and other drugs.
During Red Ribbon Week, Skyline students will participate in activities designed to emphasize the importance of living healthy lives and promoting self-esteem consistent with this year’s theme “Healthy Me, Way to Be!
The following are the activities planned for Red Ribbon Week:
- Monday, October 28th - Take The Pledge! Say "High Five to a Healthy Me!" by adding your hand print to the pledge posters during lunch recess.
