    Great California Shake Out Drill: On Thursday, Oct 17th, at 9:30 a.m., our district will join millions of Californians in the Great California Shake Out Drill. The Great California Shake Out is held statewide on the third Thursday of October each year. The drill can take approximately 30- 45 minutes.

    Dad’s Club Pancake Breakfast

    Come one, come all to our Dad’s Club Pancake Breakfast on Friday, October 18th from 8:00-8:45 a.m.! Thank you so much to our Dad’s Club for this fun and tasty event. This is a parent AND student event. Students must be accompanied by a parent before 8:35 a.m. After 8:35 a.m. students are welcome to attend without a parent chaperone as our staff will be available for supervision. We hope to see you there. 

    62nd Halloween Carnival Update/News:

    Join us for the 62nd Solana Vista/Skyline Halloween Carnival on October 20, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Solana Vista! Last year we had over 1,000 attendees at this fun event and raised $27,400 for STREAM at Solana Vista and Skyline!

    New this year! Dunk tank slots have opened and you can sponsor a friend, a rival coach or a spouse!  $30 for 15 minutes or $50 for 30 minutes! It's sure to be a great time!  Be sure to sign them up by emailing Melissa Herrington (mmccobb@gmail.com) or visit our T-shirt/raffle tables before and after school.

    We’d love to have your help. Here are the ways you can volunteer: Join the Boo Crew in the Solana Vista Kiva this week October 14-18 from 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. for Prep Parties.  

    Sign up for a 50 min volunteer shift this week to sell T-shirts at Skyline!  Click the link below or contact Jana Guy (jana.guy@att.net).

    Sign up with classroom rep to run your class booth for two hours during the Carnival.

    **We are one week away from the carnival! Don’t forget to bring your drinks, candy and baked goods for the cake walk/bake sale to Solana Vista by Thursday October 18th! You can also place your items in the boxes located in the Skyline office and we will take them to Solana Vista.  We are counting on you to help make the carnival a huge success!**

    Calling all Dad's!  Come join the action on Saturday, October 19th or Sunday, October 20th 7:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. to help set-up. Breakfast and coffee provided! Or if you’re not a morning person, we also need dads to help tear down and clean up after a long day. Last year we did it in one hour. 4:00 -5:00 p.m., Sunday the 20th.

    Thanks to your animal sponsorships, we are able to provide the pony rides & petting zoo at the Carnival this year!  

    Technology & Your Family  - A screening of the documentary film LIKE - (www.thelikemovie.com) about the impact of social media on our lives; followed by a Q&A Panel discussion with digital expert Jon Moffatt and Alexa Mendes, SDA Student and author of #Unsubscribed: how I'm thriving in high school without social media (and you can too). Intended Audience: Bring the family.  Most appropriate for children 5th grade and older.
