Hello Solana Ranch Families,

I’m excited for a great school year at Solana Ranch!

In 2019-20, I  was fortunate to begin my administrative career as the assistant principal at Solana Ranch and Solana Pacific. Although the year was abruptly interrupted by school shutdowns due to COVID, it was one that I found both fulfilling and insightful. Insightful because at Solana Ranch I returned to my love of a K-6 campus.

Therefore, when I was presented with the opportunity to return to Solana Ranch as Principal, it was quite fortuitous. I feel very lucky to be part of the awesome team of students, teachers, staff members, and families!  I’ve worked in the Solana Beach School District for the last 20 years and also attended SBSD as a student.  In addition to teaching 3rd, 4th and 5th grade, I spent seven years as a Teacher on Special Assignment supporting Professional Learning and high quality classroom instruction District-wide. Most recently, I was Principal of Carmel Creek and both of our alternative learning programs, Online Scholars and ImmersiveEDU. In 2019-20, I was Assistant Principal, spending time at both Solana Pacific and Solana Ranch. I also spent a year teaching abroad in Switzerland and have supported many school districts in technology implementations as a contractor for an outside technology company working with school districts.

My professional experiences have prepared me to support the excellent programs already in place at Solana Ranch.  I believe having a partnership between home and school is crucial to each child’s success.  I look forward to seeing you in the near future and getting to know each student and family personally this year!

Greetings Solana Ranch Community!

I am thrilled to be working with the students, families, and staff of Solana Ranch. Before I started my career in education I worked in the San Diego Biotechnology Industry. But, in 2004 I made the best decision of my life and made a major career change to education. I started my education career at Solana Pacific the year it opened. The first 7 years of my career I was an education specialist. Next, I was a classroom teacher at Skyline and Solana Pacific. From 2017 until 2023 I was the STREAM TOSA at Carmel Creek. Finally, this school year I have been a Teaching and Learning Project Specialist in the Solana Beach School District office, supporting students and teaching through many initiatives and curriculum support. 

I am passionate about the STEM fields and making them accessible to all students, environmental literacy, and student voice in learning. While I have my own areas of interest I know a well rounded education maximizes learning and opportunities for students. I am humbled to work alongside your students’ outstanding teachers to lay the foundation for their lifelong learning. 

Schools are the heart of their community and it is a privilege to work with your children and you to make each and every day the best it can be at Solana Ranch. The best is truly yet to come.
