Mrs. Ryder's Message
Dear Carmel Creek Parents and Guardians
Thank you for your support as we transitioned to our locked morning campus. The teachers are finding students excited to come to school and very calm entering the classroom each morning. We love greeting the students at the gate with smiles, high-fives or warm welcomes.
Social emotional wellness and safety is always a priority. Our PTO meetings, School Site Council, Safety Committee Meetings, Strategic Planning process and staff meetings are always reviewing and enhancing our systems. Each focus group includes combinations of stakeholders from our certificated staff, classified staff, administrators and parents.
Our staff attended training in August for building safety and also social emotional wellness. During the past few weeks children have engaged in growth mindset learning, positive messaging, restorative behavior practices and character education. Social emotional wellness continues throughout the school year using mediums such as our Carmel Creek News (CCN), push in lessons from our guidance staff and school counselor. Staff utilize a variety of materials that include and certainly not limited to:
- Please remember that dogs are not permitted during the dismissal period of 2:38 to 2:55. We do have children in kindergarten through third grade who are fearful of dogs and/or allergic to dogs.
- Please continue to use crosswalks when crossing intersections.
- The weather remains warm. Continue to apply sunscreen before school and send water bottles. The children are reminded to drink water throughout the day.
- On PE days, please remember to send your child in appropriate shoes.
Thanks to all who participated in the Childhood Nutrition BBQ. Our Child Nutrition Department was thrilled with the community turn out. If you are interested in your child participating in the lunch program, information can be accessed from the “Quick Link” Section on our website. There is also an app, “Nutrislice” with provides information on the daily menu.
Have a wonderful week.
Lisa Ryder, Principal
