Summer Enrichment Class Descriptions

Ready, Set, Go! is a summer program to help incoming kindergartners build confidence and prepare for school. The curriculum includes sorting, graphing, counting, story comprehension, letter recognition, name writing, sounds, and following directions. Students will also practice guided writing, counting and cardinality, number practice, and art. Along the way, they’ll become familiar with classroom expectations, develop social skills, and meet potential classmates. Share ideas, make new friends, and have awesome kindergarten adventures before summer ends!

Into First Offered at Solana Ranch and Skyline School
Join us as we blast off from kindergarten and embark on exciting new adventures while strengthening our reading, writing, and math skills! Through hands-on experiments, creative art projects, and engaging games, students will build friendships and create lasting memories. This summer program is designed to bridge the transition from kindergarten to first grade, ensuring students feel confident and ready for the next school year. Get ready for a fun-filled summer of learning, exploration, and new experiences!
Into Second Offered at Solana Ranch and Skyline School
Join us as we embark on an exciting journey from first grade into second grade! This summer adventure is designed to reinforce and extend essential reading, writing, and math skills while keeping learning fun and engaging. Students will participate in interactive games, create art masterpieces, and explore science through hands-on activities. Along the way, they’ll build friendships, express creativity, and develop confidence for the year ahead.
Into Third Offered at Solana Ranch and Skyline School
This summer, we’ll dive into a world of creativity, exploration, and learning as we prepare for third grade. Into Third will feature engaging activities centered around fun themes, helping students build confidence in reading, writing, and math. Students will express themselves through creative and informational writing, poetry, and art while strengthening key academic skills. We’ll also embark on science explorations, hands-on projects, and technology-driven experiences.
Along the way, students will develop critical thinking, collaboration, and social-emotional skills, ensuring they feel confident for the upcoming school year. Great stories will be shared, friendships will be made, and exciting challenges will be tackled—all while having a blast! Don’t miss out on this exciting summer adventure!
World Culture (Grades 4-6) Offered at Solana Ranch 
Travel the world without ever leaving the classroom. Through art, food, geography, and cultural exploration, students will gain a deeper appreciation for the diverse cultures that make up our world. In this class, you will travel through Oceania and the continents of South America, Africa, Asia, and Europe. Each week, we will focus on one continent. In the first half of the morning, students will learn about the geography of the continent, which helps shape the customs of various countries. Students will create different types of maps, read stories from the perspectives of people from different countries, and choose a research project that interests them to learn more about a particular culture or country using multimedia platforms. In the second part of the day, students will create art representing various cultures and cook some traditional foods. Students will create Aboriginal art and make fairy bread from Australia; Diego Rivera-inspired oil pastels, sugar skulls, and tortilla soup from the Americas; African-inspired masks and Nigerian buns; kites, mandalas, and fried rice from Asia; and architecture-inspired artwork and pastries from Europe. Speech and Debate (Grades 4-6) Offered at Solana Ranch 
The class will focus on researching and note-taking on various topics, speech writing, rehearsing, presenting, debating, peer feedback, and self-reflection. Students will practice skills in public speaking, teamwork, respectful disagreement, persuasion, and thinking on their feet. In addition to speeches and debates, we will practice speaking through various other means, such as newscasts, “TED Talks,” poetry, and telling jokes!
Broadcasting Buzz 2.0 (Grades 4-6) Offered at Solana Ranch 
Lights, camera… create! Step into the spotlight—or run the show behind the scenes—in this hands-on media course! Students will unleash their creativity, amplify their voices, and learn how media can make a difference in their community. Using Canva Pro, students will design eye-catching graphics, record podcasts, and produce video broadcasts. Participants will build a portfolio of multimedia projects that reflect their interests and ideas. Whether students are passionate about art, music, current events, technology, or helping others, this course blends creative expression with real-world media skills and collaboration. Teamwork and creativity take center stage—no experience needed, just imagination and curiosity!
Around the World in 20 Days (Grades 3-6) Offered at Skyline 
If you love art and learning about new places, this is the course for you! Spend your summer exploring arts and crafts from countries across six continents. Learn about places and cultures near and far, and make fabulous crafts and art pieces to represent each place. Travel the world from the classroom, no passport needed! Get ready to explore, learn, and create.
Math Fluency (Grades 4-5) Offered at Skyline
Unlock the fun in math and watch your child’s confidence soar! This engaging Math Fluency class for 4th- and 5th-graders helps students build strong number sense while having a great time learning. Students will strengthen their understanding of place value, fractions, and all four operations while practicing a variety of effective problem-solving strategies. Through interactive math games, creative art projects, and even cooking with real recipes, students will see how math connects to everyday life. The class focuses on building accuracy, flexibility, and confidence in a fun, supportive environment that makes kids excited to learn.
