Cell phones can be brought to school, but must be placed in a student’s backpack and turned off once they enter campus. Smartwatches, that have the ability to call, text, and/or access the internet, at school are treated in the same way as a cell phone. We recognize that cell phones and watches may be an excellent way for parents to communicate with their children; however, students receiving texts or calls during the school day can be distracting for students and the classroom environment. Smartwatches may be worn to school, however, upon entering the campus, they must be placed in student’s backpacks and kept there until school has ended and they leave the campus. If a student needs to make a phone call regarding something pertinent, they can go to the office to make a call.
