You might want to know...

I LOVE being a teacher.  Everyday I feel extraordinarily lucky to learn new things along with children.  They are always teaching me, with their curious and caring natures.

I have been teaching in the Solana Beach School District for 28 years.  I taught kindergarten and third grade at Solana Vista before coming to Skyline to teach fourth grade.  Years later I became the Reading Specialist for five years until going to fifth grade, which I taught for 12 years.  And now I am so excited for the opportunity to teach a fifth/sixth grade combination class this year!

I am interested in promoting a love of reading, problem-based learning and integrating meaningful technology into the curriculum. Several summers ago, I was chosen to become a Google Certified Teacher. I also have a master's in Educational Leadership.  I am the proud mom of our two sons, Zach and Brian.  They both went to Skyline and are now in college.  They also are Solana Beach lifeguards, so you might have had one of them as a Jr. Guard instructor!  My husband David and I have lived in Solana Beach for 23 years.
