When it is time to celebrate a birthday or a special occasion, many of us love to make special treats for our children. When sending in treats please be mindful and respectful of our district’s
wellness policy which includes offering students the healthiest foods while at school. So, If you’re planning to send in birthday treats for your child, the treat MUST be HEALTHY. Some ideas for
your children include: fruit kabobs, blueberry muffins, frozen yogurt with fresh fruit, low fat pudding cups, fresh fruit (cut apples, peaches, melons or strawberries), cereal bars, oatmeal cookies, or fruit popsicles. Be creative!
