The safety of our students is something that we take very
seriously. It is also important that we model the Pillars of Character for
our children and be sensitive to the neighbors that might be affected by
traffic flow and any violations of the rules that we have established. With
these objectives in mind, please take a moment to review the following traffic
and safety procedures:
- Drop-off should only occur in front of the playground area where our
morning greeter is located. There is a sign down the
street on Santa Victoria that states "Begin Passenger
Unloading". However, for safety reasons, please only
unload in the designated area in front of the playground.
- Students
may be dropped off between 8:10 and 8:30 each morning.
There is no playground supervision prior to 8:10, so
if you require an early drop-off, you will need to contact
CDC.
- Please pull forward as far as
possible when dropping off and picking up. All parents
need to remain in their vehicles.
- When exiting the parking lot during
drop off (8:00 to 8:45 am) and pick up (2:30 to 3:15
pm), you must turn right or go straight. There are no
left or U turns permitted in this area.
- Please do no park in or block any of the driveways of the
homes in our neighborhood.
- Be sure to use the marked
crosswalks when crossing the parking lot, streets and
driveway.
- If your child needs to enter or exit on the left side of your
car, please use street parking instead of drive-thru
areas, in order to allow traffic to move freely and
safely.
- Students waiting
on the playground for pick-up need to wait in line at
their classroom numbers. Because we do not have afterschool
supervision, students are not allowed to play on the
playground unless a parent accompanies them.
- Please be sure to pick up your child by 3:00 PM, as supervision
ends at this time. CDC is available for afterschool
childcare.
- Please do not leave your car unattended in the red zones at
any time. Your may be cited or towed if you park in
these areas.
- If you are in line in your car waiting for your child for 30 seconds
or longer, please turn off your car engine. (This helps to keep our air
cleaner and to use less gas).
- Parents picking up students on the blacktop need to pass
through the outside gate when it is opened at the designated
time. Please do not come through the main doors before
the bell rings.
- If you pick up your child on the playground after school
and stay to play, please move beyond the coned off area
so that we can differentiate which children are waiting
to be picked up.
