The Solana Beach School District is dedicated to academic achievement
and success for all students. Regular school attendance is an integral part
of that success. It is essential that students arrive at school on time
and ready to learn. Students who are not at school and in class when the
bell rings are tardy. Tardies are documented and action is taken when students
are repeatedly late to school.
Also, please make every effort to schedule vacations, appointments, and
other outings outside of the school schedule. Vacations and outings during
school time are considered unexcused absences and will be marked as unexcused
on your child’s attendance record.
Through parental and school support, children need to understand why it
is important to be at school every day, on time, and present throughout
the entire scheduled school day. To help support the need for students to
develop this positive and vital habit, the following procedures are followed:
Tardies will be logged as they accumulate during the school year.
Students
begin each year with zero accumulated tardies.
For each
tardy that occurs within a school year, the following consequences(s) will
apply:
