Dear Parents,

There are links on the Child Nutrition webpage that include information on the hot lunch program, and information on free and reduced price lunch applications. Each of these information letters needs to be carefully perused by you, completed, signed and returned to the District Office.

I would like to call your attention to the registration card. As in the past and for the school year 2011-12, we will have a lunch card that will be issued for 30 lunches, 60 lunches, a semi-annual card and an annual card. There will also be daily cash payments if your child should decide that he/she would like to eat only on one day. Milk cards will be issued on an annual or semi-annual basis, with daily milk available also. Milk is included with all lunches.

This year we are also introducing Nutrikids “MyTray” Interactive Menus, which has nutritional information. You can access MyTray after you have logged into your child’s account.

Last year the Child Nutrition department introduced Fresh-made Spaghetti with Multigrain noodles, Fresh- made Mac & Cheese, Fresh-made Sandwich day and other fresh items. We are looking forward to introducing more fresh-made items during the coming school year.

There will be a representative from the Child Nutrition program at the school sites on Open House Day. We are looking forward to a very successful 2011-12 school year.
